Newark and Sherwood District Council, in partnership with NBV Enterprise Solutions, are offering a series of 45-minute sessions for local businesses who wish to receive free specialist advice and local support to get their business idea off the ground.

The sessions will be held on a one-to-one basis with Charlotte Jordan, one of NBV Enterprise Solutions’ Business Advisers. Attendees will have the opportunity to receive valuable advice, pose questions directly related to their business, get practical tips and obtain incisive information.

The surgery is aimed at start-ups under three years of trading or those with a business idea or thinking of starting a business.

Taking place on Wednesday, 22 November 2023, at Gusto House, there are six sessions throughout the day and will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis.

Anyone who attends the Business Support Surgery can also work in Gusto House’s co-working space for free for the day.

For more information and to book your sessions, please contact Will Parkinson by emailing will.parkinson@newark-sherwooddc.gov.uk.

Councillor Matthew Spoors, Portfolio Holder for Sustainable Economic Development at Newark and Sherwood District Council, said: “Our Business Support Surgery, in partnership with NBV Enterprise Solutions, offer start-up or pre-start-up businesses in Newark and Sherwood an excellent opportunity to receive meaningful advice that is practical for their business, on what steps they can take to get their idea off the ground, grow and flourish.

“I encourage any business who feels they could benefit from one of these sessions to contact us to book their space, as places are limited.”

The Business Support Surgery has been funded through the District Council’s allocation of UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
