Since the Summer issue of Home from Homes we’ve been busy making lots of progress improving the Adaptations Service.
Here’s just a few of our achievements:-
• 98% overall customer satisfaction.
• Total of 224 minor adaptations completed since 1st April 2008. Taking an average of 18 days from receipt from Occupational Therapist to completion.
• Total of 132 major care plan adaptations completed since 1st April 2008. Taking an average of 183 days from receipt until completion. A further 23 jobs are either on site or being designed and 31 jobs are to be started (this compares to a waiting list of 90 at the start of the financial year).
• The service has been publicised in new posters and leaflets.
• Monthly meetings now take place with the Occupational Therapists and Newark and Sherwood Homes Technical Staff.
• Service Standard has been developed.
• Two contractors (Carmalor Construction and PJ Lilley Ltd) appointed to carry out the level access shower adaptations for next two years.
• Priority system introduced with ramps and access related adaptations being given main priority.
• Closer co-ordination of works with decent homes.
• Benchmarking questionnaire sent out to other local authorities.
