Newark and Sherwood Homes have a number of properties to rent in the Newark and Sherwood area. Our lettings scheme explains how we let our properties. 

As a Newark and Sherwood Homes tenant you will have one of two types of tenancy with us:


Apply for housing

In order to apply for a home with Newark and Sherwood Homes, you must register with us first. You can do this using My Account.

Please make sure you have the following information available before you apply:

  • National Insurance Number
  • ID – for example, Passport, Driving Licence, Birth certificate for all members of household
  • Proof and information on any benefit
  • Medical information as appropriate

The application form will ask you for details about yourself and everyone who will live with you in the property, where you live now and where you would like to live.

When you have registered, you will be given an application number which you will need in future to view you application and express an interest in properties.

As a Newark and Sherwood Homes tenant you have responsibilities including:

  • Paying your rent in full and on time to maintain a clear rent account
  • To report repairs needed to your home
  • To live in your property as your only or main home
  • Not to be a nuisance


Newark and Sherwood Homes responsibilities include:

  • Repairs and maintenance
  • Providing advice and assistance on your tenancy
  • Investing in your property
  • Maintenance of communal and estate facilities
  • Provide access and information on your rent account
