Newark and Sherwood Homes Business Development Team worked in partnership with Newark and Sherwood District Council in a successful bid for 'Homes and Communities Agency' funding of £1.25m to build 26 new affordable energy efficient council homes across 4 sites in the district. The sites are:
- Bakewell Close, Balderton: 8 dwellings: 8 x 2 bed apartments
- Newark Road, Boughton : 5 dwellings: 5 x 2 bed houses
- Orchard Close, Bleasby: 3 dwellings: 2 x 2 bed bungalows and 1 x 3 bed house
- Vicars Court, Clipstone: 10 dwellings: 2 x 2 bed bungalows and 8 x 2 bed houses
All four sites have been constructed by Carter Homes with the majority of Sub-Contractors being local. Local labour was supported by a training plan which allowed local people to gain employment and skills. All four shcemes which have now been completed and let to local people were built to the following high standards:

Vicar Water Close, Clipstone
The 10 new homes at Vicar Water Close, Clipstone were completed at the end of October and have all been allocated to local people through a ‘local lettings policy’.

Bakewell Court, Balderton
The 8 new apartments were completed on the 19 November and have been let to local people.
Newark Road, Boughton
These five new houses were completed on the 11 March 2011 and have been alocated to local people under a 'local lettings policy'.
Orchard Close, Bleasby
The completion of these three new homes were completed on the 18 March 2011 and were also allocated under a 'local lettings policy'.
The completion of our Orchard Close scheme marks the end of the Phase One New Build Programme.
