Our aim is to ensure that the properties available for letting are allocated quickly, efficiently and in accordance with both Newark and Sherwood District Council's policy and the particular needs of the applicant.
As of 1st April 2010 we manage 5,431 properties, of which 2,491 are sheltered properties designated for applicants over 60 years of age who have a proven mobility, medical or disability need for this type of housing.

Some of the properties on our lists are less popular than others because of their location or the style and type of accommodation. For the elderly these properties mainly consist of flats although there are some one bedroomed bungalows in more rural areas. For family accommodation, this includes first and second floor as well as third and fourth floor maisonettes.
These properties become available quite regularly. If you want to be housed quite quickly you may want to consider one of these types of property.
